Male and female are identical. The head and neck are black and the cheek is white. The wings and back are brown in color, the belly is whitish. It has between 90 and 200 centimeters of wingspan and weighs up to 8 kilograms depending on the breed. It lives on average 23 years, but the oldest known free-roaming goose was at least 33 years old!

The Canada Goose is herbivorous! It eats mostly grass leaves, such as grass, but also flowers, berries, roots, etc. Canada Geese fly in a "V" shape when moving. The first protect the following by allowing them to expend less energy in flight thanks to the turbulence created. The order of flight changes as the geese in front get tired. Geese are monogamous, they have the same partner as long as both are alive! They will often use the same nest, year after year.
