This vireo has a gray back with greenish sheen. The top of the head is grey. Up close, you can see his red eye and pale, almost white eyebrow. The underside (belly) is rather pale. The female and the male are identical! It measures about 16 centimeters and weighs up to 26 grams, which is about the weight of a shallot! It has a wingspan of 24 cm. He lives about 10 years.

This bird is mainly insectivorous in spring and summer. When the insects begin to become more rare, it also eats fruit, especially in the fall. It is used to hanging out in the upper part of trees where its greenish tint gives it good camouflage in the leaves. The females build the nest alone, at a height varying between 1.5 m and 20 m from the ground. The male can spend more than 10 hours a day singing!
